Why We Built This Site
South Carolina gives the public access to many court and public-body records, subject to court rules, exemptions, redactions, and confidentiality laws. The hard part is figuring out which Aiken County office holds the file you want. Robert J. Harte's Clerk of Court supports Circuit Court and Family Court at the Judicial Center in Aiken. Probate Court handles estates and marriage licenses. Magistrate and Municipal Courts handle summary matters, traffic, warrants, and local ordinance cases. The Sheriff's Office and Detention Center maintain separate law-enforcement and jail records.

Only the issuing court or government office can provide a certified copy with an official seal. We can point you to the right office, but the document has to come from them.
